Yes! I'm more focused on alignment than breed or size. That's why the intake form asks for so much detail – I want to understand your dog and make sure we're the right fit before you book.

It depends on your dog's size, coat condition, and temperament. As a boutique salon focused on calm, patient grooming, appointments take as long as they need to take, which means I have limited availability each day.

Safety first – for your dog and myself. If your dog has a history of aggression during grooming, let's have an honest conversation first.

Generally, no. Most dogs are calmer without their owners present (I know, it's hard!). However, for puppies having their first grooms or very anxious dogs, we can discuss what will work best for everyone.

Senior dogs get extra gentle handling, more frequent breaks, and all the patience in the world. They've earned it. If your dog has mobility issues, arthritis, or other health concerns, just let me know so I can adapt my approach.

24+ hours notice: Deposit refunded or transferred
Life happens! Just text or call me on 0410 244 714 at least 24 hours before your appointment and we can reschedule. Your deposit will be transferred to your new appointment or refunded.Less than 24 hours notice: Deposit forfeited
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will result in loss of your 30% deposit.No show: Deposit forfeited
If you don't show up for your booked appointment without contacting me, you'll lose your 30% deposit and future bookings will be reassessed. -
At this stage, I am not grooming dogs with fleas. This is to protect the sanitation of my salon and avoid spreading to other clients. Please ensure your dog is flea-free before their appointment. If I discover fleas during check-in, I will need to reschedule and your deposit will be forfeited.

I would love to help your pup feel more comfortable, but removing matting requires extra time and care. De-matting is charged at $1/minute (maximum 30 minutes). If your dog is severely matted, a full shave is most likely necessary for their comfort. I'll always communicate with you before making that call.
De-matting can be stressful for dogs. If I feel it's causing distress, I'll stop and recommend a shave instead.

I take every precaution to keep your dog safe, but accidents can occasionally happen (nicks from clippers, small cuts from matted fur removal, etc.). If you notice any concerns after grooming, please contact me within 24 hours so I can help. I cannot take responsibility for issues reported after 24 hours.

After an honest conversation, I am happy to work patiently with anxious or nervous dogs. However, if your dog poses a safety risk to themselves or me.
I reserve the right to refuse service or decline future appointments if safety is a concern. This is never personal – it's about keeping everyone safe.

No, The Filthy Mongrel is salon-based only. The space, the environment, the calm energy – it's all part of the experience. Plus, I promise the drive to Garden Mania is worth it.
